An assistance worker may be a person who has completed an introductory course pursuant to Section 60, unless otherwise specified, and who meets the requirements for performing a) the profession of social worker pursuant to the Social Services Act or b) the activities of a social services worker pursuant to the Social Services Act; in terms of professional competence, they must meet the requirements under Section 116(5)(b), (c) or (d) of the Social Services Act. In the case of activities under Section 57(2)(d) and (e), an employee of the provider not listed in paragraph 2 who has a clean criminal record may also be an assistance worker. These activities may be performed only under the supervision of an assistance worker pursuant to (paragraph 2)(a) until 240 hours have been worked in the provision of assistance or in connection with it and an introductory course has been completed.

For the purpose of proving the integrity of persons under paragraphs 2 and 4, Section 79(3) of the Social Services Act shall apply mutatis mutandis. For the assessment of the integrity of a person under a) paragraph 2(a), Section 79(2)(b) of the Social Services Act shall apply mutatis mutandis, and b) paragraph 2(b) and paragraph 4, Section 79(2)(a) of the Social Services Act shall apply mutatis mutandis.
