The Safety Officer performs the following tasks and functions: 1. ensures coordination with emergency services and takes part in the preparation of operational schemes, 2. takes part in the planning, implementation and evaluation of emergency operations, 3. takes part in the definition of safety schemes and the specification of the structure, equipment and operation of tunnels, 4. cooperates with emergency services in the preparation and organization of exercises held at regular intervals not exceeding 4 years, 5. takes part in the evaluation of any significant incident or accident.
