Non-medical healthcare professional who performs a) laboratory activities performed within the diagnostic care and the examination and measurement of the elements of living and working conditions as part of the protection of the public health, in cooperation with a doctor; b) the preparation of medicinal products in nuclear medicine, immunological or microbiological workplaces of healthcare providers, transfusion facilities or public health protection and support facilities; (c) laboratory activities in the handling of tissues and cells, including the handling of semen, ova and embryos in assisted reproduction.

Professional qualifications for pursuing the profession of specialist in laboratory methods and in the preparation of medicinal products shall be obtained by completing a) an accredited healthcare study program in the field of laboratory method leading to a master's degree, or b) an accredited study program in natural sciences leading to a master's degree and an accredited qualification course of specialised healthcare laboratory methods or an accredited qualification course of the laboratory method in assisted reproduction or an accredited qualification course in the production, preparation and control of medicinal products, or c) an accredited Master's study in science, electrotechnics or mathematical-physical focus and an accredited qualification course of a professional laboratory method in the protection and promotion of public health..

Until the time of acquiring specialised qualifications, a specialist in laboratory methods and in the preparation of medicinal products shall work in a health care facility under the professional supervision of a professional qualified for pursuing the profession without professional supervision, for the first 6 months under his/her direct management.
