Non-medical healthcare professional who performs activities related to the protection against radiation as stipulated by the special legal regulation shall be considered as pursuing the profession of radiological physicist; if the radiological physicist is performing designated activities with special importance for the protection against radiation, he/she must meet the special requirements stipulated by special legal regulation. In addition, a radiological physicist shall participate in the provision of treatment and diagnostic care in cooperation with the physician.

Professional qualifications for pursuing the profession of radiological physicist shall be acquired by completing a) an accredited health master’s study programme for the preparation of radiological physicists, or b) an accredited master’s study programme in mathematics-physics and an accredited qualification course in radiological physics.

Until the time of acquiring specialized qualification the radiological physicist shall work in a health care facility under the professional supervision of a radiological physicist qualified for pursuing the profession without professional supervision, for the first 6 months under his/her direct management.
