Non-medical healthcare professional who performs activities within the preventive care in the field of clinical diet and specific nursing care concerning the satisfaction of nutritional needs shall be considered as pursuing the profession of dietitian. In addition, a dietitian shall, in cooperation with a doctor, participate in treatment and diagnostic care in the field of clinical diet.

Professional qualifications for pursuing the profession of dietitian shall be acquired by completing a) an accredited health bachelor’s study for the preparation of dietitians, b) a three-year study in the field of the certified dietary nurse at higher paramedical colleges if the first year study is started at the latest in the school year 2004/2005, c) at least a three-year study in the field of certified dietitian at higher paramedical colleges, or d) a secondary medical school in the field of dietary nurse if the first year of study is started at the latest in the school year 2004/2005.
